Summer is around the corner. What is not going to leave your side for your holidays? Your smartphone of course! But what applications would you need to spend your holidays in France? From the preparation to the trip itself, here is our 15 mobile apps selected for connected holidays in France.

VeryLastRoom1/ Very Last Room (iPhone & iPad)
Very Last Room allows you to book hotel rooms in France at the last minute with attractive prices. The app suggests rooms for hotels rated 2 to 5 stars with discounts going from 20% to 70%. Room prices are displayed in real time. The longer you wait in the day, the lower the price is.

Refuel+2/ Refuel + (iPhone & Android)
Refuel + allows you to check petrol stations with low prices that you might meet on your travels while on holiday. The application uses geolocation to suggest stations around your position.

3/ La Chaîne Météo (iPhone, iPad & Android)
Weather plays a great part in your holiday’s success! La Chaine Météo application displays weather forecasts 15 days ahead in France: rain, sun, wind and temperatures, as well as specific data for mountain and beach locations.

4/ Voyages-SNCF.com: Horaires & Résa (iPhone, iPad & Android)
An indispensable application if you travel by train in France! Through this SNCF app, you can check train timetables, buy, cancel and exchange tickets for trains traveling between the main French stations.

5/ ViaMichelin Trafic (iPhone, iPad & Android)
A traffic information app useful while driving in France. The application keeps you aware of the traffic status in real time. The app geo-location systems adjust the map to your geographical position.

6/ Dismoioù (iPhone, iPad & Android)
A great app to get outing ideas: shopping, culture, well-being, service, restaurants, clubs and more. Thanks to geo-location, the POI’s are displayed on a map with their distance from where you are and the route to get there.

7/ LaFourchette (iPhone, iPad & Android)
A must-have app to find the best French restaurants at the best prices. The search is made by location, type of food and/or price. It shows an indication of special discounts, a detailed description of each restaurant and booking availability as well.

8/ Zevisit (iPhone, iPad & Android)
Zevisit offers POI thanks to geo-location. For a lively tourism experience, you get audio description of monuments and buildings. Audio files can be downloaded onto your phone before your visit to avoid any network inconvenience.

9/ MonNuage (iPhone & iPad)
A social network specialised in tourism indispensable for travelers. Via the MonNuage application, you can discover great places to visit, accommodation and catering in France. The app works via travelers recommendations – pictures and comments – that will guide you while on your trip.

Looking for sun on the French coasts this summer? Pavillon Bleu lists the most beautiful beaches and ports. The listed places have received the “Pavillon Bleu” eco-label, guaranteeing the bathing waters environmental quality.

You haven’t mastered the French language? ‘Image it’ will save you with it’s communication system based on 450 pictograms, symbolizing an idea or an object that is easily recognizable for everyone.

Some accounting might be necessary when you travel with friends. This app helps you to keep holidays accounts quickly and easily. For each expense made (shopping, rent, restaurant, petrol etc…), you can add the name of the person who paid. It then indicates the balance for each of the travelers.

A postcard creation, personalisation and edition service, from your favorite personal pictures (from your smartphone or via Instagram, Facebook or Flickr). Last but not least, an original (but practical) application. It answers the most basic question: Where are the toilets? The application lists more than 5,000 public and private toilets in distance order.
